Dominican art in Scotland
It was open in Glasgow, Scotland, the first exhibition of Dominican art in that country, with the participation of the recognized artists Guillo Perez, Enriquillo Rodriguez Amiama and Miguel Pineda. We have chosen these three great representatives of the Dominican visual arts having like common denominator theit so representative wealth and chromatic intensity of the Dominican art, expresses their directors Mónica Raful and Josiane Wyper. Caribbean Colours (Colors of the Caribbean) is in charge of Art du Dominican, subsidiary Monde of Art du Monde Ltd with seat in Scotland. The objective of Art du Monde is to promote the cultural interchange, particularly in the related thing to the Plastic Arts, between the Caribbean and Europe. This is first of a series of collective and individual exhibitions that will be carried out in the 2007, in Beziers, France; Edinburgo, Scotland & London, England. As well, Art du Monde is in the future planning the organization of exhibitions of artists from Scotland and France in Dominican Republic. The exhibition was taking place in Gallery 23, a gallery located in the Merchant City of Glasgow, a zone of great development and welcome in the field of the arts. The collective one, inaugurated the 9 of March with a duration of three weeks, counts on the auspice of local and international organizations. Thanks God we are having a lot of exposure through the web and our paintings are being published at many art related books and travel magazines. "Still life in oils" by Theodora Philcox in England, "Discover Dominicana" by Yukio Kawashima in Japan, "Merian" in Germany, are some of the titles that are publishing art works and interviews with us. Also some editors asked us for images for covers at some important books. Thanks for this opportunity! |
