Last October 99 it was published my first web page, at Talk City. One week later I received an e-mail from a nice couple. They saw my works and liked them. They asked me about one little painting. In January I started a new page at Homestead, with more recent works. They were fascinated with "Getting Dark". Peggy wrote me:
Hi Enriquillo...

Lovely new work.  Look forward to a little still life....My favorite of
the new work is "Getting Dark"...the marvelous enormous sky, contrasted
with the small mangos ...a very spiritual effect...beautiful.  Guess
I'll have to shoot for Norm's birthday to surprise him.
Congratulations on all the success you've been having.

Norm and I are both poets...I may surprise YOU
with a poem about your work!

All the best...Peggy

( and both wrote poems about. Here they are:)

  FIRE AND LIGHT
                               for Enriquillo Rodriguez

More than to dazzle the eye -
this color, this Caribbean harmony,
hot with the necessity of sun...
orange, crimson, white, set against
cool foliage, the green made soft...
as though a woman calls,
receives, & he, in his flood
of brilliant noon, responds,
until early evening joins
its radiant aurora with the dark horizon.

                               Peggy Aylsworth Levine

Mangoes and the sun at dusk,
orbs of earth and sky.
Now in our own twilight,
with juice undiminished,
gradations never before seen

Norm Levine
